Science TV on Hoopla

Hoopla is a digital media service offered by public libraries that allows users to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to stream or download for free. Over 1500 library systems in the US and Canada subscribe to Hoopla. Go to www.hoopladigital.com and click on “get started” to find out if your library offers it.

[Local folks: Seattle Public Library and King County Library System both offer Hoopla. On the kcls website, you can also get to Hoopla by clicking on “online library” then choosing movies and TV.]

Some of the STEM related series you can stream or download for free include:

  • Peep and the Big Wide World (age 3+)
  • Dinosaur Train (3 to 6)
  • Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That (age 4+)
  • Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab (age 6+)
  • Magic School Bus
  • Zoboomafoo – about animals (age 3 – 6?)
  • Design Squad Nation (age 8+)
  • Mr. Wizard’s World – a dated classic
  • SciGirls (age 8 – 12)

They used to have Sid the Science Kid and Bill Nye the Science Guy but those weren’t available in September 2020.
